How Much Does a Wedding in Tuscany Cost? Prices, Budget, and Experiences – 2028 Guide

An evening wedding reception in the courtyard of Villa Boscarello, decorated with string lights, with the hills of the Val d'Orcia in the background

A long weekend with the people who matter most to you. A villa nestled among olive groves and cypress trees, an evening together before the wedding, and an outdoor ceremony the next day. For many couples, that’s exactly what makes a wedding in Tuscany so appealing. But how much does it actually cost?

For a wedding with about 50 to 70 guests, a budget in the mid five-figure range can serve as a useful starting point. A celebration at an agriturismo is priced differently than an exclusively booked estate that includes multiple overnight stays. That’s why I’m not only showing you rough budget ranges, but also specific package prices and what’s included in them.

I work as a photographer and videographer at weddings in Tuscany. Among other things, I had the pleasure of covering Maxi and Daniel’s multi-day wedding at Villa Boscarello and a wedding at Villa Il Poggiale. What strikes me time and again is that the costs only become comparable when you consider the actual scope of a wedding weekend.

How much does a wedding in Tuscany cost for 20 to 100 guests?

The following overview is a rough planning guide, not a representative market statistic. It presents various wedding concepts rather than fixed prices per guest. Especially with exclusive villas, the length of stay and the guest accommodations included have a significant impact on the budget. For my weddings in Tuscany, celebrations with about 50 to 70 guests are a common size.

A Rough Budget Guide for Your Wedding Planning

Small wedding with 20–30 guests

approx. €20,000–35,000

Wedding with 30–50 guests

approx. 25,000–45,000 €

A wedding with 50–70 guests, depending on the venue and scale

approx. 30,000–65,000 €

A larger wedding with 70–100 guests

approx. 50,000–100,000 €

Exclusive Multi-Day Wedding Weekend

even over €100,000

The ranges are editorial guidelines and not statistically derived average prices. They refer to essential on-site wedding services; guests’ individual travel expenses and their privately paid accommodations are not included in the flat rate. An exclusive villa with four nights’ lodging is not directly comparable to a one-day celebration at an agriturismo. The categories should be understood as different concepts; for exactly 50 guests, the range of approximately €30,000–65,000 serves as a rough starting point.

Prices in this guide are current as of October 2026. The individual rates listed below for Villa Boscarello and Fattoria La Selva apply specifically to the 2028 season.

A sample budget for 50 guests at a villa in Tuscany

To give you a sense of the scale, I've put together an example based on a real quote for 2028. This is not an actual invoice from one of my wedding couples. The villa and menu prices are taken from the price list; other items are intentionally marked as estimates.

Cost item

  • Villa Boscarello, 4 nights / 30 guests, peak season 2028 = €24,000 · specific offer

  • Wedding dinner, 50 × 130 € = 6,500 € · specific quote

  • Pizza Night, 50 × 39 € = 1,950 € · Specific Offer

  • German-speaking wedding officiant, including travel expenses = 2,500 € · specific price

  • Wedding Photography = starting at €4,500 · Example price

  • Wedding Planner = starting at 3,000 € · Example price

  • Floristry = 2,000 € · specific offer

  • Music / DJ = 2,000 € · Accepted

  • Subtotal = €46,450

This €46,450 is an illustrative subtotal, not an actual wedding bill. That works out to €939 per guest, but it is not a meaningful flat per-person price: The villa costs the same regardless of whether 30 or 50 guests are attending, and additional guests may require extra accommodations. Not included, for example, are additional guest rooms, aperitifs or bar service beyond what’s included in the package, extended service hours, styling, the wedding cake, stationery, transportation, technical equipment, and a contingency fund. The prices for the venue, dinner, and pizza night are taken from the 2028 Pometti price list; the wedding officiant confirmed her total price directly. The remaining amounts are expressly planning estimates.

In my guide to planning a wedding in Tuscany, you'll find more tips on choosing the right venue, the best time of year, and planning a wedding weekend that lasts several days.

How much does a wedding venue in Tuscany cost?

There are significant differences between a small agriturismo, a winery, and an exclusively rented villa. A single rental price doesn't tell you much unless it's clear how many nights, rooms, and event spaces are included.

Before booking, I would always check: How many nights are required? How many people can sleep there? Is the property reserved exclusively for us? Are breakfast, housekeeping, furnishings, and staff included? What are the rules regarding music and event times? And what are the alternatives in case of rain?

If you're still looking for the right venue, feel free to check out my post on wedding venues in Tuscany —I've put together a personal selection of beautiful venues there.

Villa Boscarello: Four Nights Instead of Just One Wedding Day

A particularly telling example is Villa Boscarello near Trequanda in Val d’Orcia. According to the 2028 price list I have on hand, a four-night stay for 30 people costs €24,000 during peak season and €20,500 during off-season. The rate includes, among other things, breakfast, linens, housekeeping, and use of the pool; the local tourist tax is listed separately. The minimum stay is four nights. For five nights, the price list lists €24,600 during the high season and €21,100 during the low season.

The distinction is important: This isn’t about €24,000 for a single wedding day, but rather a stay lasting several days that includes accommodations. In purely mathematical terms, €24,000 at full occupancy works out to €200 per person per night. This is a calculation guide, not a room rate that can be booked individually.

I covered Maxi and Daniel’s wedding here, which had about 50 guests. Their first evening together was a pizza party by the pool. On the wedding day, the schedule included an outdoor ceremony on the cypress-lined avenue, an aperitivo by the pool, dinner in the courtyard, and the party. Not all of the guests stayed overnight at the villa; other accommodations were available in the surrounding area.

Fattoria La Selva: Accommodations and an Option for Smaller Celebrations

Just about 200 meters away is Fattoria La Selva, which is also part of the Pometti Estate. The price list lists accommodations there for up to 39 people in various apartments or living units. Unlike at the villa, prices are listed per accommodation per night; a minimum booking of three nights applies for the Fattoria. According to the operator, smaller, rustic weddings are also possible there. Those who do not need the entire estate can book individual accommodations, subject to availability.

For couples, this is a good example of how even two neighboring venues can have very different booking models. It’s not possible to reliably estimate the total cost of an exclusive wedding in La Selva based solely on the individual prices.

How much does catering cost for a wedding in Tuscany?

Catering packages often differ more in the scope of services they offer than in the price per person. A simple meal is not the same as a full wedding dinner that includes tables, chairs, tableware, service, and beverages.

The Pometti price list for 2028 lists the cost of the wedding dinner at €130 per person, including VAT. According to the quote, this includes, among other things, furniture, tableware, glasses, table linens, buffet and table service, as well as the agreed-upon menu. For 50 guests, that would total €6,500. However, the specified service time is limited: 1.5 hours for the aperitif and two hours for dinner service; each additional hour of service is charged at €350.

In addition, the price list includes simpler dining options that aren’t quite on the same level as a wedding dinner: a three-course Tuscan dinner for €45 per person, a pizza night for €39, and a pasta night, also for €39. This can be a nice and relatively straightforward option, especially for the evening before the wedding.

How much does a pizza party the night before cost?

For 50 guests, the pizza night package costs €1,950. According to the price list, this includes an antipasto buffet, a variety of pizzas, dessert, and a selection of beverages and wine as described. An additional aperitivo or extended bar service is not automatically included.

Maxi and Daniel's wedding showed me just how well an evening like this can work. Everyone arrives, gets to know each other, and spends time together without needing a second big wedding program on the very first night.

What additional catering costs should you consider?

For each quote, ask about the exact times for service and beverages, setup and takedown, furniture, children’s rates, menu alternatives, and any possible surcharges. For example, the list provided here includes a midnight snack at €15 per person, an additional hour of service at €350, and an extension of breakfast service at €100 per hour. While these items may seem small individually, they can quickly add up over the course of a weekend.

How much does a wedding photographer cost in Tuscany?

The cost depends on the duration, scope, and services requested. For my own wedding coverage in Tuscany, full-day photo packages typically range from 4,000 to 6,000 €. For photography and wedding video combined, my quotes usually range from 6,000 to 9,000 €, depending on the scope of the project. These are based on my experience and are not universally applicable market rates. The key factor when comparing quotes is what’s included: coverage on the wedding day, additional hours for a pizza party or brunch if applicable, a potential second photographer, and the agreed-upon travel expenses. A customized quote tailored to your plans will make these details transparent.

I photograph weddings in a calm, documentary style. Especially for destination weddings, it’s important to have experience dealing with intense summer light, different languages and cultures, and the ability to handle last-minute changes with ease. After eight wedding seasons—during which I’ve also photographed numerous weddings in Tuscany—I know how much peace of mind a calm and unobtrusive presence can provide.

So don't just look at individual highlights on Instagram or the website—be sure to check out full wedding photo albums and Google reviews as well. In addition to price, the specific scope of services and your photographer's experience should play an equally important role in your decision.

When is it a good idea to have a second photographer?

A second photographer can be helpful if both partners are getting ready at the same time, if multiple locations need to be photographed simultaneously, or if the celebration is particularly large. The number of guests isn’t the only factor. Ask about the specific additional fee and travel expenses; these costs aren’t automatically included in every photo package.

You can find more information about when and why a second photographer is a good idea in my article: " A Second Photographer at a Wedding: Is It Worth It or Not?"

Wedding Photography, Wedding Videography, and Analog Photography

Upon request, I can complement my digital work with a wedding film and selected analog shots on 35mm film. For me, these aren’t separate stories: The images should convey the same atmosphere without having to stage the day for the camera. The best combination depends on what’s important to you.

How much does a wedding planner cost in Tuscany?

A wedding planner can handle a great deal of coordination, especially for a wedding weekend lasting several days: communication with vendors, the event schedule, guest accommodations, logistics, and dealing with last-minute changes. As a preliminary planning estimate, you can set aside approximately 3,000 € in the sample budget; however, specific fees depend heavily on the scope of services. A reliable market price cannot be determined from the provided venue price list.

It’s important to determine whether the service involves full planning, partial planning, or simply coordination on the wedding day. Also clarify whether travel and lodging expenses, additional event days, and any referral fees are included.

What other costs are involved in a wedding in Tuscany?

Wedding Officiants, Civil Wedding Ceremonies, and Translations

I have a specific price example for a non-religious wedding ceremony in Tuscany: An experienced German-speaking wedding officiant from Germany, with whom I enjoy working, charges €2,500 as the total final price. This includes the wedding ceremony as well as all travel and lodging expenses; according to her, there are no additional costs. This is a specific quote, not a general market price. For a legally valid civil wedding ceremony, depending on the municipality, documents, translations, fees, and, if necessary, interpreters may also be required.

Floral Arrangements, Styling, Cake, and Stationery

Flowers, hair and makeup, the wedding cake, invitations, and stationery are often underestimated in initial budget plans. The costs depend heavily on the scope and design. In Tuscany, in particular, I believe it’s worth first letting the atmosphere of the venue sink in and then consciously focusing your decorations on the areas that are truly important to you. Through my work in the area, I’ve come to know florists and other service providers whom I’m happy to recommend if needed.

VAT, SIAE, tourist tax, and payment terms

Always make sure that quotes are shown as complete, final prices, and ask whether Italian value-added tax (IVA) is included. The Pometti price list cited here explicitly states that several prices include taxes or value-added tax. This does not mean that quotes in Italy are generally net or gross.

Also plan your payment schedule: For the venue, catering, and planning, deposits may be due well in advance of the wedding. Ask for written confirmation of payment schedules, due dates, security deposits, and cancellation policies. This will help turn your overall budget into a realistic payment plan.

Depending on the event and how the music is used, SIAE fees may also apply. Check with the venue, DJ, or event planner to see if these fees apply and who is responsible for paying them. The Pometti list also mentions a local tourist tax of €1.50 per person per day, subject to changes by the municipality. When reviewing contracts, also check for down payments, payment deadlines, security deposits, and cancellation policies.

Plan B for the Weather, Technology, and Transfers

For many couples, a lovely outdoor dinner is an essential part of the Tuscan experience. Nevertheless, it should be clear from the venue tour what will happen in case of rain. Are there suitable indoor spaces available? Will a tent, a pagoda, additional lighting, or technical equipment need to be arranged separately? Shuttle service between accommodations and the venue can also be a significant consideration for larger groups.

How much does a multi-day wedding weekend in Tuscany cost?

A possible wedding weekend begins on Friday with a relaxed pizza night, continues on Saturday with the bridal party getting ready, followed by a late-afternoon wedding ceremony, aperitivo, dinner, and party, and ends on Sunday with breakfast or brunch together. The actual booking may be longer: For Villa Boscarello, the 2028 offer specifies a minimum stay of four nights, and for Fattoria La Selva, three nights. Therefore, holding a celebration on a weekday doesn’t automatically save money if the multi-day package must be booked anyway.

This is clearly illustrated by Villa Boscarello: For 2028, a minimum stay of four nights is offered. An additional fifth night increases the listed package price by €600. This does not mean that an additional event day, including all services, costs only €600: Food, beverages, service, and other service providers must be calculated separately.

Who pays for the wedding guests' accommodations?

This isn’t a hard-and-fast rule—it’s up to you. Some couples cover the cost of accommodations for family and close friends; others arrange for a block of rooms that their guests pay for themselves. For a destination wedding, you should clarify this issue early on and communicate openly. Here’s an example: If a room costs €115 per person per night based on double occupancy, three nights would total €329 per guest—plus travel expenses. This is an illustrative calculation, not a standard room rate for both properties. What matters are the actual occupancy, the minimum number of nights, and who covers the costs.

What are some practical ways to save money on a wedding in Tuscany?

I wouldn’t start by cutting back on the memories or the people who’ll be with you throughout the day. It often makes more sense to simplify the process: choose a venue with suitable event spaces, plan a straightforward welcome dinner, set a specific guest count, and compare packages along with the services they include. Dates outside the peak months can also be worth considering.

The Pometti price list for 2028 distinguishes between the peak season (May 15 through September 20) and the off-season (March 15 through May 14 and September 21 through December 21). For this specific four-night package, the off-season price of €20,500 is about 15% lower than the peak-season price of €24,000. This is a special offer for this specific package; it is not a blanket seasonal discount for all of Tuscany.

My Experiences: What Remains of a Wedding Weekend?

For couples like Maxi and Daniel, whom I photographed in Tuscany, it wasn’t a single event that made their wedding special. It was the conversations by the pool, the pizza party the night before, the wedding ceremony among the cypress trees, and the dinner they shared in the courtyard.

After eight seasons as a wedding photographer in Tuscany, I know one thing above all else: A well-planned schedule, along with people and vendors you trust, gives you the freedom to truly experience your day. That’s just as important to me as taking beautiful photos and videos.

Conclusion: What budget should you plan for your wedding in Tuscany?

A wedding in Tuscany with 50 to 70 guests can vary greatly. For about 50 guests, roughly €30,000–65,000 is a rough initial estimate, depending on the venue and scope of services. An exclusive wedding weekend with multiple events and arranged accommodations may cost more than that. Our specific example—which includes four nights at a villa, dinner, a pizza night, and a wedding officiant—totals €46,450, based on additional planning assumptions, before additional costs and a contingency fund.

The specific offers show why this distinction is so important: Four nights in a villa, including breakfast and lodging, cannot be directly compared to renting a venue for an afternoon. And a pizza night for €39 per person is different from a wedding dinner for €130 that includes setup and service.
