Wedding Photographer in Tuscany – Documentary Style, Calm & Unobtrusive

Documentary-style photography for your wedding in Tuscany

Whether it’s an intimate celebration with a small group of friends or a weekend getaway under the Italian sun, weddings in Tuscany are all about the atmosphere, the time spent together, and the people you share it with.

It is amidst long dinners, warm evening light, and the tranquility of Italian country estates that the moments we will truly cherish for years to come are created.

I’ll be there for your wedding, keeping a low profile and staying out of the way, capturing the genuine intimacy, atmosphere, and all those little moments in between with a documentary-style eye.

Photography & Film – flexible and from a single source

Many couples choose my hybrid approach, which combines photography and video under one roof—while others prefer a purely photographic service. Both options are available.

The result is a cohesive visual narrative—without a large media team or an intrusive presence, but with plenty of space for you and your guests.

With experience from over 200 weddings, I’ll be there to quietly guide you through your day and capture the moments that often happen between the big moments—authentic, genuine, and intimate.

A relaxed wedding photography experience in Tuscany — no pressure, no posing.

Hi, I'm Marco

Many couples want photos that feel natural—without staging, without posing, and without the pressure of having to “perform” in front of the camera.

That’s exactly what I focus on. I’ll be there to capture your wedding in Tuscany in a calm and unobtrusive way. My goal is to capture genuine moments of connection and the special atmosphere while you enjoy your weekend with your loved ones.

I live with my wife in Mainz and have been photographing weddings in Germany and Italy for many years. Tuscany, with its country estates, long summer evenings, and laid-back tranquility, continues to shape my work time and again. It is here that I create photos and videos that require no artificial staging.

With over 170 five-star reviews and more than 8 years of experience, many couples feel confident that they can relax and enjoy their wedding weekend—knowing that the important moments will be captured with care and discretion.

I only cover a limited number of weddings each year.

A wedding film captures not only memories, but also voices, movement, and the special atmosphere of your wedding.

I’ll capture your day through photos and film—quietly, unobtrusively, and without staged scenes. By combining photography and videography, I create a cohesive visual style that authentically reflects your wedding in Tuscany.

A movie that, years later, will take you back to those long summer evenings, shared dinners, and the people you spent that weekend with.

Analog Photography

Analog photography is particularly well-suited for weddings in Italy.

Film has a unique sense of calm, soft colors, and a timeless aesthetic—perfect for country estates, Mediterranean light, and relaxed summer evenings in Tuscany.

Many couples deliberately choose analog photography to complement their digital wedding photos. The images come across as authentic, imperfect, and often particularly intimate.

Frequently Asked Questions About Weddings in Tuscany

How far in advance should we book a wedding photographer for Tuscany?

Popular dates in Tuscany—especially in May, June, and September—are often booked 12 to 18 months in advance. Once you’ve decided on your dates and location, it’s a good idea to send an inquiry. This way, you can find out early on whether your preferred date is still available.

Do you only cover multi-day weddings, or do you also do one-day photo shoots in Italy?

In addition to multi-day wedding weekends, I also cover intimate celebrations, elopements, and smaller destination weddings in Italy. What matters most isn’t the duration—it’s that the photographer’s style is a good fit for you and your wedding day.

Can we book photography and video together?

Yes. Many couples deliberately choose to combine photography and video. This creates a cohesive visual style and a seamless experience—without having multiple teams on site. It allows for an authentic capture of the atmosphere, movement, and emotions.

Do you also incorporate analog photography into your wedding photojournalism?

Yes. Upon request, I can supplement the digital photo report with analog shots on actual film. Analog photography works particularly well for weddings in Italy—thanks to its soft colors, Mediterranean light, and timeless aesthetic. The images often have a calm, authentic, and especially intimate feel.

Can you help us by recommending venues and service providers in Tuscany?

Yes. Having attended many weddings in Italy, I’m familiar with various estates, villas, and borgos in the region. I’d be happy to share recommendations for venues, itineraries, or suitable vendors—especially if you’re still in the middle of planning.

How do you back up photos and videos from a wedding abroad?

Security is especially important when it comes to destination weddings. I use cameras that save images to two memory cards simultaneously. I also create backups on-site. I transport analog film personally and have it developed at specialized labs.

What is the booking process for our wedding?

Once we receive your inquiry, we’ll schedule a personal video call to get to know each other. During the call, we’ll discuss your plans, your wedding in Tuscany, and the type of photography services that best suit your needs. If everything feels right, you can secure your booking with a deposit.
