Hi, I'm Marco

Portrait of Marco Palmer, Wedding Photographer for Weddings in Wiesbaden

I live in Mainz with my wife and love good coffee and CrossFit, which I’ve been doing for almost ten years. I discovered my passion for wedding photography in 2016 while traveling around the world. My style has been particularly influenced by my interactions with photographers from Australia and the U.S.

Today, I cover weddings in Mainz, Wiesbaden, the Rheingau, and at special venues around the world. I have had the privilege of capturing over 200 weddings through photography and video—and have received more than 170 five-star reviews from couples on Google.

My services in detail

As a wedding photographer and videographer, I’ll be there to capture your day quietly and unobtrusively—keeping an eye out for the big moments and all the little ones in between. The result is photos and videos that show your wedding exactly as it felt.

I photograph many weddings not only in Wiesbaden, but also in Mainz and the Rheingau region.

With my wedding photography, I capture all the significant moments of your wedding – from the grand moments to the small, spontaneous details that make the day special. I work discreetly to capture genuine emotions without using staged poses. Each shot should reflect the true atmosphere and feelings of the day, so that even years later, you can be transported back to that special moment when you look at them.

For many couples, Wiesbaden is the starting point for their wedding planning. Celebrations often take place in the surrounding area—amidst views of the Rhine, vineyards, and historic villas.

The Rheingau region, in particular, with its castles, monasteries, and wineries, offers an exceptional concentration of stylish wedding venues—ranging from elegant castle complexes to modern wineries with sweeping views of the Rhine.

The following articles highlight a few venues I’m personally familiar with from having attended many weddings there.

Wedding Planning & Inspiration in and Around Wiesbaden

In addition to specific wedding venues, there are several topics that many couples consider during the planning phase.

Whether it’s a civil ceremony in the Rhine-Main region, multi-day weddings, or unique venues in the Rheingau—the following articles provide a concise overview and helpful insights based on my experience as a wedding photographer.

How long should we book a wedding photographer for?

Most couples book their wedding photography for 8 to 10 hours so that all the important moments—from getting ready to the reception—are captured.

This is how a complete wedding story comes together—from the preparations through the ceremony to the first moments on the dance floor.

How far in advance should we book a wedding photographer in Mainz or Wiesbaden?

Popular wedding dates are often booked 12 to 18 months in advance.

Dates during the peak season—between May and September—fill up quickly. So as soon as you know your wedding date, it’s a good idea to make your reservation early.

Do you also photograph weddings in the Rheingau region and the Mainz area?

Yes, I cover weddings in Mainz, Wiesbaden, and throughout the Rheingau region.

Many of my couples choose to celebrate their weddings at wineries, castles, or historic villas in the region. Thanks to my experience, I’m familiar with many of the most beautiful venues along the Rhine.

Do you also cover weddings that last several days or wedding weekends?

Yes, more and more couples are opting for wedding celebrations that last several days.

In addition to the wedding day, I can also cover a welcome dinner the night before, the civil ceremony, or a relaxed get-together the day after, if desired.

How does the process of booking a wedding photographer work?

The first step is to send a brief inquiry via my contact form.

I’ll check the availability of your wedding date and get back to you within 48 hours. Then we’ll get to know each other during a video call and discuss your wishes for your wedding photography.

When will we receive our wedding photos and video?

You'll receive the first highlights within 48 hours of the wedding.

The complete wedding photo album will be delivered within 6 weeks at the latest. For the wedding video, you will first receive a rough cut before the final video is completed.

How much does a wedding photographer cost in Mainz or Wiesbaden?

The cost depends on the duration of the support, experience, and additional services such as videography.

Many couples in the Rhine-Main region spend between 3,000 and 6,000 euros on a full-day wedding photo shoot.

Do you also photograph civil weddings in Mainz or Wiesbaden?

Yes, in addition to full-day weddings, I also officiate civil ceremonies in Mainz, Wiesbaden, and the Rheingau region.

Many couples book a shorter photo session to cover the wedding ceremony and a subsequent couple's photo shoot.

Do you know of any good wedding venues in Mainz, Wiesbaden, and the Rheingau?

Yes, thanks to my experience from having planned over 200 weddings, I know many unique venues in the region.

Whether it’s a winery in the Rheingau, a historic villa in Wiesbaden, or a wedding on the Rhine in Mainz—I’d be happy to share my recommendations with you.
