The 5 most beautiful registry offices in the Rhine-Main region
Most couples get married on two dates, one for the registry office, i.e. the legally binding marriage ceremony, and one for the church or free wedding. They say one is for the state and the other for the heart. Both on one day is often a logistical masterpiece.
WEDDING TREND
In the past years, the registry offices have developed further and would like to be both, legally binding and for the heart. Many rooms have long been redesigned and are not in the charm of the 50s post-war period anymore, but rather with great attention to detail and in a beautiful ambience. Every year, more beautiful rooms and locations are added where weddings can be held. No matter how you want to get married, there should be something suitable for everyone.
In the past years I have noticed that beautiful civil weddings are becoming more and more trendy and are no longer just a formal act. The bride's entrance, accompanied by music, while the groom is waiting inside, great and personal words of the registrar and after the I-do, some live music from an acoustic singer, turn the legally binding must into a beautiful marriage ceremony.
PREPARATION
What many people do not know: a wedding ceremony in Germany is possible in every registry office. Even if you live abroad, you can get married in Wiesbaden, for example. The only important thing is that you first register at the registry office where you want to get married and find out which documents you need.
If you have all the necessary documents together, you have to order the so-called banns - thus register for the wedding ceremony. The registration is then valid for six months, which is why you can apply for it at the earliest 6 months before your desired date. However, you can often get a wedding date up to 12 months in advance. So make sure you book your date in time and order your banns afterwards.
The 5 most beautiful registry offices in the Rhine-Main region incl. insider tip
If you would like to get married in the Rhine-Main area, I would like to introduce you to a few beautiful locations here:
WEDDING STORM - DARMSTADT
In the two wedding rooms you can marry in a traditional and stylish way in a very special ambience. The Wedding Tower is a popular landmark for people from Darmstadt. Whoever manages to empty the wine from the historic cup after the ceremony should be especially lucky in marriage! Let's go.
EBERBACH MONASTERY - ELTVILLE ON THE RHINE
A wedding in the romantic Eberbach Monastery can be individually arranged in different rooms according to your wishes. After the wedding ceremony your guests have the opportunity to take a tour of the 900-year-old monastery while you use the time for a bridal couple shoot, for example.
DRINKING CURE FACILITY - BAD NAUHEIM
The modern Trinkkuranlage offers you an atmospheric ambience. The Art Nouveau-style location was one of my highlights. The wedding hall in the Trinkkuranlage can accommodate a maximum of 50 guests. Unfortunately, there are only a few dates each year. It pays to be quick.
EMMERICH PAVILION - HÖCHST AM MAIN (FRANKFURT)
The wedding hall in the Emmerich Pavilion of the Bolongaro Palace is exceptionally historic. For me a real insider tip. There is room for 15 sitting and 15 standing guests. In the garden in front of it you can plan your champagne reception in the shade of the trees with a view of the Main River. There are parking spaces in the immediate vicinity.
INFO: The wedding ceremony can be attended by the bridal couple and a maximum of 28 guests can take part.

FORT MALAKOFF, HOTEL HYATT - MAINZ AM RHEIN
Modern meets historical. The wedding room is located in the historic part of the former gun installation, which today belongs to the Hyatt Regency. The Malakoff Terrace invites you to linger on the Rhine afterwards. Weddings are only held two Saturdays a month.
INFOThere are only six wedding ceremonies on two Saturdays a month between 10.30 am and 1.50 pm (every 40 minutes). The wedding room offers space for 24 people.
CIVIL WEDDING DESIGN
The time frame of a civil marriage is usually between 20 and 30 minutes. That is not too long. For a church or free wedding ceremony you should plan one hour.
Then the entry is read out and recorded with your signature and that of your best man and maid of honor. Did you know that you do not necessarily need a best man? So if you only want to get married the two of you wihtout any guests, this is also possible without any problems. After the signature the marriage is legally binding. Either congratulations are given directly or you can go outside and let yourself be congratulated in the fresh air.
