Unforgettable Online Hen Do – 5 Tips for Success.

Online hen do, you don't have to be in the same city to have a great time

An unforgettable hen do!?

What is a bachelorette party/ bachelor party essentially about?

It's about spending unforgettable time with your best friends. It's about doing things that the bride/groom enjoys and simply creating beautiful memories that you will never forget before entering into the "harbor of marriage". Right?

Sure, nobody likes Corona and it messes up all the plans, but it's not the end of the world. Read how easy it is to still have an unforgettable day with a little creativity and why it's sometimes better to leave the beaten path.

5 simple steps to make it a perfect online hen do.

1. WHY PLAN B IS THE BETTER PLAN A.

I recently spoke to one of my brides and she told me happily, via video call of course, how great her hen do was. To be honest, I was a bit irritated at first, as I had expected it to be either canceled due to Corona, or only be able to take place on a very small scale.

What had happened? Her maid of honor, who lives at the other end of the country and wouldn't have been allowed to travel herself, had assigned time slots throughout the day to all of the bride's favorite people, who now also live all over Germany and Europe. Everyone could choose something that they associate with the bride or knew that she enjoys. So the future Mrs. had a total of 11 great points during the day. With a normal hen do, there would be significantly fewer.

The necessary utensils were sent to a neighboring friend, who then placed the appropriate package in front of her door throughout the day. Completely Corona-compliant. The video conferencing system from Zoom, which is free and easy to use, was then used to make phone calls alternately throughout the day. In the evening there was a live broadcast with all the girls and a DJ played music and dancing was allowed. Doesn't sound like a great day?

Here's how it works:

  1. Consider everything that connects you with the bride or what she likes to do (cooking, sports, drinking wine, crafting, wellness, yes wellness :-). You can also team up with another "guest" and do something together.

  2. Divide the day into time slots of at least 45-60 minutes each. It is best to ask the respective "organizer" how long he/she needs for his/her surprise.
Make sure that the slots are not too long and that there are short breaks in between.

  3. Everyone packs what they need to implement the idea into a package and numbers it according to the daily schedule. Slot 1 = Package 1 etc.
The packages can then either be deposited with family or friends who live nearby, or sent directly to the bride. Then it's not quite as surprising. If you have collected the packages elsewhere, always send someone to hand over the package to the bride before the next time slot.

  4. Create a link e.g. via Zoom or similar, where several people can participate in a virtual meeting.
Tip: Set up a test meeting with the others in advance so that everything runs as smoothly as possible during the hen do and you can use the opportunity to discuss the last details.

  5. Then you're ready to go ;-)

Conclusion

In the current situation, there is no planning security. You follow the news every day and start to sweat as soon as the R-value goes up. A virtually planned bachelor and bachelorette party makes it much easier to sleep at night. Regardless of whether another lockdown is threatened or contacts are limited - it can take place as planned.

Especially when friends, family and wedding witnesses have to travel from different parts of Germany or even from other countries, the bachelorette party via the Internet is probably the best alternative at the moment to toast the upcoming wedding together with loved ones and have a great time again.

Alone but still together - You see, nothing stands in the way of a great day!
