Getting married in Tuscany

There are so many wonderful places in the world to get married.

Tuscany with its Mediterranean flair is very much in trend, not only for celebrities like Sylvie Meis, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, but also for many other bridal couples.

This summer I had the opportunity to plan a bridal photo shoot in Florence.

Organizing a photo shoot abroad is always a great opportunity to learn more about the approach, ideas and trends of the respective country. I quickly realized that although many couples from all over the world get married in Tuscany every year, the first big hurdle is communication. English is not widely spoken among the service providers, which doesn't exactly make communication any easier. Therefore, I would like to share some of my best tips and tricks with you here.

A Wedding planner is the base

So I was very happy to work with the lovely Elena from Melograno Wedding Lab from Florence to have quickly found a suitable wedding planner. With her help we quickly found the Villa le Fontanelle the perfect wedding location, and with her experience and network we also found the right service providers (flowers, table decorations, stylist for hair and make-up, ...).

Suitable location

The goal was to take some pictures in the city as well as photos in a typical Tuscan wedding villa in the surrounding area.

I would not have expected that we would be only approximately 10 minutes from the city centre already surrounded by fantastic Tuscan nature and a breathtaking view over Florence. In the Villa le Fontanelle one can get married in the appendant chapel or who prefers a wedding ceremony outside, also under the white sun sails.

Dinner can then be enjoyed with family and friends while enjoying a picturesque sunset with a delicious Chianti from the region and a great view of Florence.

With Valentina & Nicolo from Bergamo and Berni & Max from Germany we had two sweet couples for our photo shooting in a dreamlike scenery. Valentina and Nicolo were just on their way back from their honeymoon and wanted to enjoy once again to dress up and stand in front of my camera in wedding dresses. I knew Berni and Max from a couple photo shoot in Germany and they had also gotten married only a few weeks before. So there was a lot of Amore on site that afternoon.

The dress that Berni wears, you can get next to many other great wedding dresses at dear Ela von Ela's Brides in Mainz. The bridal shop for modern bridal fashion for the authentic bride. The dress of Valentina is from Rotundo Stefaniaan Italian designer.

Conclusion

For one or another it is already a challenge to plan a wedding in Germany and I was able to experience it myself during the photo shoot preparation, a distance of several hundred kilometers and different cultures does not make it easier to prepare for the big day perfectly. To make sure everything runs smoothly, knowledge of the Italian language, manners and a lot of sensitivity are required. Therefore I was very grateful to have Elena and her team at my side.

It was so nice that I am already looking forward to being back in Tuscany again, because often it is not more expensive to book a photographer from Germany for the wedding than to find one locally. Even language barriers and cultural differences would be avoided in this case.
